On March 26, 24 students in AP biology and L4 Biology from Central High School visited the Science Center at Harvard University to participate in a workshop with five postdoctoral students and one PhD student, all of whom specialize in plant physiology. The three-and-a-half-hour workshop was divided between the grad students' presentations of their research projects and four hands-on activities.
The Harvard students welcomed comments and questions from the Manchester students, who got the chance to perform their own experiments, share their results and discuss them. Harvard's equipment and supplies gave the Central High School classes an opportunity to learn things about plant biology that can't be demonstrated during normal class time at the high school.
