Twelve distinguished Central High School graduates will be
inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame May 7 at a banquet to be held at
Manchester’s Radisson Hotel, according to Dr. Michael Murphy, chair of the Hall
of Fame committee.
The inductees include John Baraniak, an accomplished
attorney; the late Louis Benezet, former president of Colorado College;
Howard Brodsky, president of Carpet One; Dr. Jennifer Cohen Takagishi,
a noted pediatrician; Nick Covatis, legendary Central science teacher; John
Kacavas, former U.S. Attorney; Robert Miller, an attorney and
author; Ellen O’Neil, Central track star and coach of the Smith College
track team; Dr. Gary Proulx, the medical director of Exeter Hospital’s
department of radiation oncology; Robert Schiavone, former Central High
School principal; Chris Schneider, Central athletic standout; and Doug
Wenners, president of Anthem Blue Cross’s northeast region.
Proceeds from the dinner will be used to erect a memorial on
Central’s campus to graduates who died in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Hall of Fame was founded in 1996. Inductees include
Olympic gold medalist Bob Beattie; John Sullivan, former secretary of the Navy;
Chip Kelly, head coach of the San Francisco 49ers; and comedian Adam Sandler.
