School locator makes finding your neighborhood schools easy!

A new tool that makes it easier than ever for families and community members to determine their neighborhood schools is now online.

No longer do our website visitors have to read maps and decipher district boundaries. Now they simply type in an address -- a street number is required -- and the results will provide the correct elementary, middle and high school designated to that location.

The school locator is available in several places on the Manchester School District website -- including under quick links and the "Schools" tab in the main menu: http://www.mansd.org/schools

We'd like to thank Tony Schaffer in the City Information Systems Department and Kevin LaFramoise, Manchester's web services administrator, for their partnership in helping our district connect to the city website mapping system that makes this possible. Thanks also to Leah Belanger, Donna Crook, Jeff DeLangie and Liane St. Laurent in our office for collaborating with the city and implementing the tool on our website.

WANTED: Community professionals to participate in Career Day

On Wednesday, March 29, 2017, Manchester High School West is hosting a school-wide Career Day. The structure will be different from similar events that often follow a "career fair"-type format in which professionals representing various fields set up displays and wait to be approached by interested students. At West, every teacher will be matched with a guest speaker related to his or her subject area. For example, in the math department, one teacher may host an accountant while other math teachers host a stockbroker or a carpenter. Students will follow their regular schedules and be introduced to a different career field with each class change. Speakers are asked to give a hands-on or interactive presentation to the classes they meet. West is offering full-day and half-day sessions for interested professionals. Lunch will be provided in all sessions. Full day. 7:15 am - 3:00 pm Morning only, 7:l5 am - 11:30 am Afternoon only, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm Members of the com
