Nomination deadline extended: Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)
The nomination deadline for outstanding elementary, grades K-6, mathematics and science (including computer science) teachers has been extended to April 15, 2014. The PAEMST are the nation's highest honors for K-12 teachers of mathematics and science. Awardees serve as models for their colleagues, inspiration to their communities, and leaders in the improvement of mathematics and science education. Since 1983, more than 4,200 teachers have been recognized for their contributions in the classroom and to their profession.
If you know great teachers, nominate them to join this prestigious network of professionals. The nomination form should be completed early enough to ensure that the nominated teacher is given enough time to thoroughly prepare an application that reflects exemplary teaching prior to the application deadline. Applications are due by May 15, 2014. For more information, visit www.education.nh.gov or contact Jiffi Rainie at (603) 271-7450 or Jennifer.Rainie@doe.nh.gov.
